New Game  [13/10/2003 17:14:18]

Inspired by the suggestion on http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/3186936.stm regarding online translators and translating the lyrics of pop and rock songs from English into German and back again to see if they can be recognised, and even though it isn't Friday, thought it may appeal to some of you.

So to start:

which is bad some things in the life, them, can furiously really form you, other fair things lets you schw50ren and verfluchen, if you murren, give, whistle cartilages of the life, not to chew you and this'll turn assistance things out for the best.

Nice one Iain, never woould have guessed that one.

I've got one for you guys:

On a wasteland highway ahed coolly wind hair, which grew collitas smell, which rise above by air, up in the distance, saw a shining light, my head heavily and my sight grew, had to stop it for the evening weakly, there stood in the entrance, with the mission flange, and I thought to me, which could be this sky, or this could be it the hell

I think this is easier than the last one, but hey, its the only song i knew the lyrics too............

anyway keep em coming guy's!!!!

Mike

New Game  [14/10/2003 13:32:09]

Hotel California..............

"Dad who takes to me with this shield. I cannot use it more. It holds a too dark blackening, to see. believes how I strike the door of sky. "

Are we all using the same translator?

This was done with Babelfish

Translators  [14/10/2003 13:56:23]

I was using dictionary.com

Don't think it should matter if we all use different ones - if we try to translate it back I suspect it will just get more and more obscure.

Caution: This game could reveal more than we wanted to about our ages....

Is there Life on Mars?  [15/10/2003 08:19:55]

I didn't think that one was too mangled - suppose it's just down to what songs you like and know, and I was always a bit of a Bowie fan (up until Tin Machine!)

Naff one  [15/10/2003 10:05:40]

It had fear to come out from the safe-deposit box it was so nervous, as it could be. It had fear to come out from the safe-deposit box. It had fear that someone would see. Two, three, four, explain to the people, what carried them.

"Yellow Polka Dot Bikini".

I'm not sure what's sadder, the fact that I guessed that or the fact that as your venerable administrator du jour I'm participating in this...

"e while we roll for low in the road, our higher shades of the one than our souls, walk one lady there we who all know, that the white light shines and want it to show, as everything still turn for the gold"
