Taunton News  [12/10/2006 15:29:44]

I like to keep up with the press in my old home town. I'm sure Scott will be happy to tell you all about the benefits of being a Tauntonian.

I picked up this article recently and found it very funny. I don't know if anyone else shares my sense of humor but this article is clearly big news down in the South West!!!

Scott do you recognise the culprit?

Mmmm....  [24/10/2006 15:50:06]

Jason,

Sorry i didnt reply earlier, had some cider to attend to....ahem....*cough*.

Taunton is slowly becoming "Chav" district of the SW, much to my annoyance and also the annoyance of my friends. News like this frequently appears on the front page of the Telegraph....sorry, the Taunton Gazette. :-). I tend to find the court new interesting and amusing sometimes:

"Blah Blah, 35, arrested, Guilty, 12 month community service for stealing a chicken and some bleach from local supermarket."

Now...., my mum isnt the best of cooks, but surely an onion, some veg and some potatoes are needed to make a roast? :-)

Culprit...  [24/10/2006 16:29:48]

"Scott do you recognise the culprit?"

No, i dont. But to be honest, "they" all look the same to me....ok, maybe that's a bit harsh........the females sometimes have hair.

:-)

Probably.........not the best way to get your lager but by all accounts his departure from the store was "Stellar", apparently he used an exploding citrus fruit as a diversion....wait for it....an ......Orangeboom (those of you drinking in the 80's will remember this little tipple)

Taunton News (Flash)  [26/11/2007 12:45:25]

As you may remember I like to keep everyone up to date on crime in my old home town, I picked up this particularly worthy article today and thought it of the highest quality, probably front page material.

Fire in shed

By Laura Thorpe

FIRE crews were called to a shed fire at around 3.15am today (Saturday) in Winchester Street, Taunton.

One fire engine from Taunton attended the incident.

The fire was extinguished and there was 20% damage to the shed. It is unknown as to whether or not this was deliberate or accidental ignition.

20% damage!!!!!

was the door burn!

Serious?  [27/11/2007 17:20:40]

I can't tell if anyone in this thread is being serious about these being considered real crimes :)

Serious  [28/11/2007 11:11:41]

I suppose the crime is in the reporting.

In a town which has a population of 50,000 there most be more to write about than a guy who stole a crate of Carling or a shed which suffered 20% burns.
