ISCC Call transfers-Genesys  [23/3/2006 21:47:59]

Hi All,

Me a new member of this community..

Had a quick question -

Call getting transferred from A(Network TServer) to B(Premise TServer).
The target of the call is selected as an ACD Queue [AQ] on B's Switch [BS]

The ERP's in B's switch has epn option set as "test" and the AQ also has epn option set to "test".

The call is going to ERP with the epn option as "test" and subsequently getting distributed to the queue AQ, as required.

Question is how does the Tserver know to exactly select the ERP with the epn option as "test" as the routing point to which the call should be transferred, at the first place?

Is it like " TServer knows that the target is AQ -> Goes and checks its epn option->Finds it as "test" -> so goes and finds an ERP with the same epn option-> and hence the calls gets parked onto that ERP"?

Genesys EPN option  [27/3/2006 21:45:01]

Your assumption on how this works is correct.

The EPN option was implemented for distributed PBXs and in particular VoIP solutions where you might have voice gateways for one PBX distributed across multiple sites. To prevent the voice calls all coming in to one site and then being transported as VoIP over a WAN, the EPN option allows you to associate ERPs with a particular set of premised based DNs (turret extensions most commonly). So if your call is for agent X on site 1, then the call is directed to an ERP also at site 1.

EPN = Expansion Port Network and comes from the Avaya Communications Manager (Definity) that (I believe) this feature was first implemented for.

Thanks!! and epn option on IServer?  [29/3/2006 17:32:49]

Thank You Simon for the information..

Is this epn option available with Iserver also?

I tried using an "Access Resource" object with "Resource Type" set to "dnis" in the Advanced Tab [and epn option set in the Annex], instead of an ERP, under the virtual switch. It seems to fail even though I was informed that this is supposed to work. Please let me know if I am missing something.

Hiran

EPN option on I-Server  [29/3/2006 18:50:49]

I've only see the EPN option used for network routing to external route points on a distributed PBX.

We probably need to discuss what your architecture is and what your trying to achieve. We can then post an answer for all on the forum

epn in I-server  [1/4/2006 16:01:44]

Hi,

I was exploring the option of epn when trying to transfer to an IVR [ from a network TServer or from another IVR]

Thanks,
Hiran

Transfer to IVR  [9/4/2006 16:13:10]

I assume you have an IVR in Behind PBX configuration (?) and want to transfer to a group of external route points on the PBX that are on the same EPN as the IVR (?) In principle I would say that this should work, but needs testing.

Transfer to IVR  [11/4/2006 21:43:50]

Yes.The IVR is behind the PBX.

The same seems to work in our environment with the call routing to an Access Resource having the same epn option as that of the IVR [or the Voice Treatment Port to be specific].

The route type used is 'DNIS Pooling' and hence the use of Access Resource with Resource type as "dnis".

I am hoping that the same will work in the case of an IVR-to-IVR transfer!

Thank You!
